The Santa Fe Studio Tour 2017
5 Days 2 Weekends 64 artists in 48 studios
In its eleventh year, the Santa Fe Studio Tour 2017 will be two art-filled weekends featuring the work of 64 established and emerging artists. A free, self-guided tour open to the public, visitors can choose to tour any number of open studios and discover a variety of original art – paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, and other one-of-kind works. Many artists give demonstrations of their craft, share techniques and discuss what inspired their work.
On Friday June 16 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm the tour begins with an Artists Reception and Preview Gallery, an exhibition of artwork by participating artists. The Preview Gallery is available to visitors over the first weekend at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. It is an opportunity for the public to view all the artists’ work, pick up a full-color tour brochure and use the convenient map to plan their weekend’s tour. Brochures are available at area restaurants, businesses, and other venues beginning in early June and information is also available on the website: www.santafestudiotour.com. Beginning Saturday June 17 and Sunday June 18 – and the following weekend Saturday June 24 and Sunday June 25 — from 10am to 5pm, all participating artists open their studio doors to collectors and visitors. Santa Fe Studio Tour officials describe the weekend as a “dynamic yet intimate total immersion in art where visitors can talk with the artists, experience their working environments and purchase art, all while enjoying the landscape of New Mexico, touring from one studio to the next!”
